Lance's Girls

Lance and I wanted to play with the light in the dining room to see how our newborn photo shoot with Kate would go on Monday, so out came the camera. Lance took some BEAUTIFUL shots of his little girl and caught one impromtu moment of Kate and me. We had the photos printed at the local Walgreens, and when Lance went to pick up the photos, they accused Lance of printing copies of professional photos. He explained that he was the photographer, but they made him sign a waiver saying he was liable if the photographer tried to sue! Look how sweet
the main controversial photo turned out!

Here are a few others in Kate's lamb swing.

Kate's outfit of the day was given to us by one of my 5th grade students, Macie. Thank you, Kate loved it!

Kate's 1st week

(Not happy with being burped)
(Riding home from the hospital to my house)
(In my only jammies that fit!)
(Stretching in my pack-n-play) (Something freaked us out in this picture)

Lance heard on ESPN radio from an announcer about a project he did with his children. He took a picture for each day of their life and made it into a book/slideshow for the child's 1st birthday. Lance has taken on this challenge, and above, are Kate's 1st seven days of life. I hope we can keep this up, because the outcome will be amazing!

1st Doctor's Visit

This morning, bright and early, we visited the doctor to check out Kate's jaundice levels. Her slight orange "glow" is not the fashion statement we want to make! We got dressed for our first outing and headed out in a little hot pink sweater from Aunt Dana and a coordinating onesie. Poor Kate obviously can't hold up her head yet, and our carseat is just not helping the situation. Her head keeps bobbing forward, so we're going to have to supplement the current head "support" and get something else.

Bundled and ready to go!

Kate was so brave and only cried when the nurse had to squeeze her little heel to get a blood sample. I was impressed with the bandaid selection...we got a pink and white polka dot one! As soon as that bandaid went on, Kate was perfectly calm. Hopefully, she has not inherited a fear of needles from her mother!

Pictures of Kate - blog and words to follow

We made it home from the hospital on Monday, March 23rd (Kate's original due date), and here is our first picture in her home. She is very comfortable in her new rocker :) As you can see by the slight shade of orange, she has a little jaundice, so we will be taking her to the doctor tomorrow to get her checked out.

She is born!

Kate's Nursery

So it's the night before Kate's arrival, and my mother and I finally put the finishing touches on the nursery. Being the procrastinator that I am, it's no surprise that this was done right up to the minute. However, it looks beautiful! All the bedding, curtains, etc. were handmade by my mother or her friends. I did contribute and made 5 crib sheets! Below are some photos of all our hardwork.

Inspired once again by friends, I plan on keeping up with this blog to post pictures of Kate so everyone can "meet" her for the first time and watch her grow. Please be patient if photos don't go up immediately....we might have to put Aunt Dana or Uncle Brian on the task of updating the blog when she's born. Love to all!
